About Us

THE FIRE WAS LIT

Both Sharmita – my wife – and I, were looking for a suitable change i our respective jobs. She was working with a buying house and I with the world’s biggest advertising agency. As things were not working out, as we desired we chose to create something new for ourselves.

On 10th October 2013, we had our first stall at one of the Durga Puja Pandals, selling Laal Maans with Lehsuni Chutney and Kulche. We named our counter My Spice Kitchen. We eventually also sold the Hyderabadi Dum Biryani and we received a very encouraging response. It led us to immediately search for a suitable place to formally launch our restaurant. And so we did on 17th November 2013. My Spice Kitchen was launched with a single purpose, i.e. to provide a delightful experience to all by our quality of service and tasteful food.

The logo of My Spice Kitchen is a ‘najarbattu’. We are from a land of herbs and spices. It is part of our lifestyle & culture. While the traditional ‘najarbattu’ with lemon & chilly is to drive away the bad omen, the My Spice Kitchen ‘najarbattu’ contains the key spices i.e. garlic, red chilly, star anise and clove. It’s to welcome good taste and contentment.
